“ A group of 16 of us enjoyed an authentic Somali dining experience on 31 Dec 24. The setting was simple, but the focus was on fast service and incredible food. Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder: The slow-cooked lamb shoulder was the highlight of the meal. The meat was unbelievably tender, falling off the bone with ease. Each bite was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, leaving us savoring every mouthful. It was a dish that truly stood out and exceeded all expectations. Rice Full of Flavor The rice was fragrant and packed with flavor. Every grain was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully, pairing wonderfully with the tender lamb. It was a simple yet unforgettable combination that left everyone fully satisfied. Although the marinated chicken steak wasn’t available, the lamb and rice were more than enough to make this meal a standout experience. The service was quick, and the food delivered on its promise of authentic, bold flavors. For anyone looking to try Somali cuisine, this place is highly recommended. ”
“ Went to this gem of a restaurant today and it was AMAZING! Brother Abdul-gadir was very welcoming and although the rice was finished he managed to accommodate us and brought us rice ! The food was served hot and the portion was very good, it easily fed us ( 2 very hungry males ) We ordered the 2-3 persons meal, the lamb was very tender and juicy as was the chicken. I really liked the hot sauce as well - be careful tho its quite hot. Definitely coming back again. ”
“ We walked into the most authentic vibe. Food was 10/10. The meat fell off the bone with no effort. A bottle of Shani is a must with any meal here. Ample portion size, and they kept offering us top ups! Very friendly and perfect atmosphere with the uncles playing cards downstairs! ”
“ I recently visited this restaurant for the first time with a friend, it was filled with men but in less than a minute they had seated us at the back and placed a privacy screen around us, which was great, I ordered beef steak and rice and my friend had lamb shank and rice, the portions were excellent, I think the rice and meat could have more flavour compared to other Somali restaurants I've been to, but the sauces were amazing and really compliment the meal, they happily gave us more sauce when we asked, a slice of egg on the side was a nice touch and salad and all food was fresh, they didn't give us a banana which most Somali restaurants do provide with your meal but it was fine, you don't go for the decor as it's very simple, my meal said 10 on the menu but I was charged 11, I took some bhajias to go, which were 1.50 for 3, they also kindly provided us containers to take the rest of our food home with extra delicious sauce at no extra charge, despite being very busy we received excellent customer service, even as we were leaving we were asked if everything was ok which was really nice, if you like Somali food I would recommend this place, I would return :) ”
“ Alhumdulillah been here twice now and I think this is gonna be my local spot, amazing Somali platter better quality better price, the lamb hanid was tender the beef steak was juicey but the chicken leg tasted so good makes you wanna slap your mama lol, amazing and the tuna sambusa was elite up there with Bangladeshi tuna samosas. Overall Great food the place looks a bit run down but that's how you know the food gonna be great Allahumma barik ”
“ Alhumdulillah food was amazing. The uncle Abdul Mannan there was so kind and came to check on us to see if we're okay. He was very polite and professional. The food he recommended was amazing we have 2 people platter with came with Xannid (Lamb Shoulder), beef steak, rice and salad. The hospitality of Al Jazeera is definitely unmatched Subhan'Allah. ”
“ By chance, me and my partner visited this place, and we were blown away. Don’t expect to be blown away by the interior, as you will be blown away by everything else. This is not only the best Somalian food we have ever had, but is some of the BEST food we’ve ever had. The lamb shoulder on spaghetti and rice (they call it “federation”) was an interesting combination which turned out to be a show stopper. You get all the bells and whistles like the sauces and spinach. We also tried the mufo and suqaar which was DELICIOUS ! And great, personal, family-style customer service to boot. Wow. Wow. Wow! As for the pricing, this is some of the best value food in London. You’ll definitely be blown away on that front. ”
“ You know the food is serious here when you see aunties cooking in the kitchen. No fancy tik tok pages or social media presence, just quality food served at an affordable place. Easily the best Somalian restaurant around, and we've been to loads. ”
